After a successful career in the oil and gas industry, Jacob Richter, also known as Guru Pamengku Jero, dedicated himself to community service through UTAMA. A 9th Degree Master of Pencak Silat under the PPS Inti Ombak system. He serves as President of the Pencak Silat Federation of the Americas, the United States Sports Silat Association, and UTAMA 501(c)(3), all nonprofit organizations.
As an internationally recognized coach, referee, and trainer accredited by the International Pencak Silat Federation, Richter has pioneered Pencak Silat across the Americas, earning the title of Honorary Representative of Pencak Silat and Culture to the American Continents. He holds certifications in trauma-informed coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy, autism awareness, and US Safe Sport. His achievements include organizing tournaments, leading USA teams in global competitions, and creating diverse training programs, from sports to military applications. Also, an author and advocate for traditional healing and executive function development, Richter blends martial arts and holistic wellness in his innovative programs.
Daniel Prasetya is a prominent figure in the Pencak Silat community and the recognized caretaker of the Inti Ombak Pencak Silat system, which has its roots in traditional Indonesian martial arts. He is part of a lineage that connects back to royal Javanese and Madurese traditions. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Daniel has been teaching for over 30 years and is dedicated to preserving and adapting the cultural heritage of Silat through both traditional and sport forms. His work includes being a coach and development coordinator for the USA National Pencak Silat team under the United States Sport Silat Association (USSSA).
Daniel is also a civil engineer and a doctor of oriental medicine, reflecting his multifaceted expertise. He serves as Vice Chair of the United Teachers Association for Martial Arts (UTAMA), emphasizing both martial and executive function training
John Montenieri's journey reflects a life dedicated to service, expertise, and a love of learning. Starting his career as a veterinary technician driven by his love for animals, he excelled in dog training and volunteered in retriever competitions, earning the distinguished title of an 8-point judge.
With a degree in Applied Sciences and multiple continuing education courses, John has built a remarkable 33-year career at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Beyond his professional success, he has achieved multiple black belts in martial arts, showcasing his dedication to discipline and skill.
John’s commitment to service extends to volunteering for multiple nonprofits, where his technical expertise and unique perspective have been invaluable. His contributions have been instrumental in the success of UTAMA, where his added value and dedication are deeply appreciated.
With gratitude for his achievements and service, UTAMA recognizes John as a vital part of its mission to make a positive impact in the community.
Dr. Jai-Gurmukh Kishore Samtani is a family medicine specialist and hospitalist with over 21 years of experience. He graduated from the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in 2003 and completed his residency at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, he is affiliated with multiple medical facilities, including Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital and Annie Penn Hospital. Dr. Samtani integrates holistic health approaches into his practice, focusing on comprehensive patient wellness and creating treatment plans that address physical, mental, and emotional health.
In addition to his medical career, Dr. Samtani is an accomplished martial artist who has studied disciplines around the world, including Pencak Silat in Indonesia. His global experiences in martial arts reflect a commitment to understanding diverse traditions and integrating them into a holistic approach to health and personal development.
Danielle M. Johnson is a dedicated mother and wife in a military family, balancing her personal commitments with a strong sense of community service. After a successful career earning her RN and BSN, Danielle now dedicates her time to volunteer work. She serves as the committee organizer for UTAMA and is an active member of the Eaton, Colorado Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she is deeply involved in volunteer service work with local churches, contributing her skills and compassion to support her community.
